Patrol Division

 

Lt. Bill PecciThe Operations Division is comprised of 4 road patrol shifts, the K-9 Unit, and the Reserve/Part Time Officer Unit.  The Division has 35 personnel assigned to it. Lt. Bill Pecci is the Operations Division Commander.

There are four shifts in the patrol division.  Each shift is supervised by a sergeant.  The primary responsibility of road patrol is to respond to calls for service from the community. When time permits the officers focus on proactive patrol to address problems within the community.

The K-9 Unit consists of two K-9's, along with their handlers. These dogs are trained in narcotics detection and the tracking of fugitives and missing persons.  They are assigned to our evening and midnight shifts to ensure K-9 coverage a minimum of 16 hours a day.

The Reserve/Part Time Officer Unit consists of fully trained and certified police officers who assist the department during staff shortages, hurricanes, special events, or any other time they are needed.
